The primary priority at Veecare Homes is the care of our residents. Our care is person centred, which focuses on recognising the uniqueness of each individual and their rich life experiences. This is achieved via incorporating our assessment to subsequently tailor every care package to meet individual’s physical, emotional and social needs, wishes and preferences.
We recognise that the transition into a care setting after years of independent living is a major change which can be a very emotional life experience. We emphasis the integrity of having a personal relationship with every resident, their family and friends to ensure a seamless transition, enabling residents to continue their interests and lifestyle with discreet and sensitive support that retains dignity and well being.
The relationships we build are essential to excellence in care. Relationship centred care is not only for the people who we care for but also for their close family/friends, and our care teams. This approach is both personalised and collaborative, recognising that meeting residents’ needs and wishes is essential. Our partnership approach is based on strong and positive relationships; this is at the heart of our care delivery.
A respite stay at any Veecare home gives many people the opportunity to enjoy time with friendly and welcoming staff and residents. Whether you care for a relative or are in need of care yourself, taking a break from your usual routine can do the world of good.
Respite care provides care and support for people who may only require short or temporary stay in a care home. This might be because they require some short-term care and support to recover from illness or hospital stay to help them get back on their feet. It can also be an invaluable service for those who are full-time Carers for their love ones or friends. Giving Carers a chance to relax and take a break from day-to-day responsibilities, knowing that their love ones or friends are in a welcoming and safe environment with expert care tailored to their needs.
Many people also arrange a trial stay as a temporary resident to see if the home is the right choice for them as their new home. Whatever your requirements might be, we will tailor the care package to meet your needs.
Respite & Short Breaks
We recognise the difficulty surrounding the decision to move a loved one into full-time care. This decision is one of the hardest for both resident and family when the person is living with dementia. Veecare homes thrive in offering dignity and respect to every resident in fulfilling a meaningful active & happy life.
Our approach is both personalised and collaborative, recognising that meeting resident’s needs and wishes is essential and that this is a partnership approach based on strong and positive relationships, this is described as relationship-centred care. This is pursued through offering a safe and secure environment combined with our specialist teams who are highly trained and deliver a very high standard of dementia care. Our care team are trained to understand each individual for their own requirements, needs and feelings - providing care accordingly. We encourage those important regular visits from family and friends to try and maintain familiar routines.
Likes & dislikes are commonly hard for residents with dementia to articulate to staff, therefore our staff is trained with the help of families to get to know the residents background so that necessary care can be tailored to their specific needs. We acknowledge that every individual is unique in their own way and respect the dignity of the human spirit.
Residential care is for frail older people who are finding it increasingly difficult to manage at home without additional help and support. Their needs are low, who do not require nursing care or specialist care for people living with dementia, for example, but who might need help washing, dressing and performing daily living activities.
Our thriving residential communities enable residents to sustain and build new key friendships and relationships both within and outside of the care community. We encourage independence and purpose by providing stimulating activity programmes, which are tailored to coincide with residential care need’s and capabilities - and to be be thoroughly enjoyable. A short example of what our activity programmes entail are gardening, baking, gentle exercise, outings, pet therapy, music therapy, etc.
Although many people are opting to stay at home longer, evidence has shown that some of the factors linked around declining health and depression include loneliness and isolation. Every Veecare home will take the time to create a tailored care plan that suits the individual. Our Carers know when to provide care and when to encourage independence. Wherever possible, your love ones will retain control over their daily lives, but rest assure, we will be there 24 hours a day should they need us.
